Important: This article is only about positions that are marked as open in Chartlog but are closed in your trading platform.

Before you try anything below make sure you have uploaded all your trades!

How to avoid open positions

In this section we'll go through all the possible reasons why open positions occur.

Please make sure you follow all the steps so you don't run in to the same issues again.

Using the Chartlog Importer for DAS Trader PRO

The reason for an open position is most certainly a missing trade that our Importer cannot pick up. Below are the most likely scenarios when this will happen:

  • DAS Trader PRO was not running when an order got executed

  • PC was in sleep mode when an order got executed

  • Network issues while an order got executed

  • Traded with the DAS mobile app

  • You have not restarted the importer in a while (Best practice is to close it every day after trading)

Make sure that DAS is running and your PC is not in sleep mode if you're still waiting for an order to execute.

Using manual file upload

If you upload trades manually with a file, make sure you select a time period where all your positions are closed when you're exporting your trades. Lastly, if you are uploading your trades in batches, make sure to start with the oldest trades first.

How do I fix open positions

Using Chartlog Importer for DAS Trader PRO

If you uploaded your trades with the importer you can manually close the position.
Follow this guide to learn how: http://help.chartlog.com/en/articles/4222565-how-to-use-the-close-position-feature-for-das

Using manual file upload

Export the missing time period where the position has been closed and upload it to Chartlog. Feel free to delete any positions that need to be reuploaded.

You can delete positions by going to your journal and selecting the 3 ellipsis button on the position itself.
